Engineer / Senior Engineer – Product Engineering & R&D Job Summary

We are seeking an Engineer / Senior Engineer – Product Engineering & R&D to support the research, development, design, testing, validation, and lifecycle engineering of Quick Disconnect Couplings (QDCs), connectors, adapters, manifolds, and related fluid conveyance components used in data center cooling and other fluid handling applications.

This role combines current product engineering and R&D responsibilities , making it suitable for candidates with experience in product engineering, mechanical design, R&D, product development, testing, prototyping, manufacturing engineering, or fluid handling technologies .

The engineer will investigate technical issues, develop and evaluate product improvements, support prototype and laboratory testing, analyze engineering data, and collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Suppliers, Product Management, and other engineering teams to improve product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and customer application.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, testing, validation, and lifecycle management of Quick Disconnect Couplings and related fluid conveyance products.

• Conduct concept evaluations, feasibility studies, prototype development, engineering experiments, and laboratory testing .

• Investigate product, manufacturing, supplier, quality, and customer issues using structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis .

• Support engineering activities involving pressure integrity, leak performance, flow characteristics, sealing systems, cleanliness, material compatibility, durability, reliability, and lifecycle performance .

• Analyze test results, engineering data, drawings, specifications, production feedback, and customer requirements to identify risks and improvement opportunities.

• Support engineering changes, product improvements, cost-reduction initiatives, alternate materials, supplier changes, and manufacturability improvements .

• Develop and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, test plans, test reports, risk assessments, engineering change documentation, and technical reports .

• Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering tests and qualification activities with test laboratories, technicians, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams.

• Support product qualification, certification, compliance, reliability testing, and customer-specific technical requirements .

• Coordinate prototype builds and work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Management, R&D, and suppliers .

• Participate in design reviews, product lifecycle reviews, failure investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives .

• Apply engineering methodologies such as DFSS, Lean, 8D, FRACAS, DFMEA/PFMEA, root-cause analysis, and structured problem solving as appropriate.

• Support current released products while also contributing to new product development and technology development initiatives .

• Identify opportunities for product performance improvements, reliability improvements, cost reduction, manufacturability, and process optimization .

• Prepare technical presentations and communicate engineering findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.

• Contribute to intellectual property, innovation, and technology-development activities when applicable.

• Maintain accurate technical records, test evidence, traceability, and engineering documentation .

• Mentor junior engineers, technicians, or engineering team members as appropriate for experience level.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Product Engineering, Engineering Science , or a related technical field.

• Strong understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles, product design, materials, testing, measurement, and engineering analysis .

• Experience with engineering problem solving, root-cause analysis, technical documentation, and data analysis .

• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional engineering and manufacturing environment .

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Product Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.

• Experience with Quick Disconnect Couplings (QDC), fluid connectors, fittings, valves, manifolds, seals, or fluid conveyance products .

• Experience with data center cooling, liquid cooling, thermal management, or other fluid-handling applications .

• Experience with pressure testing, leak testing, flow testing, cleanliness testing, sealing systems, durability testing, or reliability testing .

• Experience with R&D, laboratory experimentation, prototype development, and technology validation .

• Experience with CAD/CAD viewers, engineering test equipment, data analysis tools, and technical software .

• Familiarity with DFSS, Lean, DFMEA/PFMEA, FRACAS, 8D, PPAP, qualification, and certification processes .

• Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing teams on product development or engineering changes.

• Experience supporting customer technical issues or field/product investigations .

• Experience mentoring engineers or technicians.

Work Environment

The position operates across engineering, R&D, manufacturing, laboratory, supplier, and customer-support environments . The role may involve hands-on participation in prototype builds, laboratory testing, production investigations, design reviews, qualification activities, and supplier or customer technical discussions.

Occasional travel may be required to engineering facilities, manufacturing plants, suppliers, test laboratories, or customer sites.
