Financial Analyst

What You'll Do Join our Cash Management Unit in the Office of Financial Affairs and play a key role in managing accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance activities, and customer service functions. This position supports critical financial processes, ensures accurate financial records and helps maintain strong internal controls across the organization. Duties include: Review and analyze accounting records, financial transactions, and reports for accuracy and compliance. Process and monitor expenditures, revenue, payments, purchase orders, and contractual obligations. Reconcile accounts and maintain financial records, including petty cash and payment card transactions. Prepare financial reports, analyses, and supporting documentation for management and stakeholders. Monitor grants, contracts, and funding agreements to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements. Research and resolve accounting discrepancies, customer inquiries and financial issues. Support audits by gathering documentation, analyzing data, and responding to auditor requests. Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures. Utilize financial and accounting systems to maintain accurate records and support daily operations. Assist with fiscal planning, budgeting activities, and financial performance monitoring. Collaborate with internal and external partners to improve processes and deliver excellent customer service. UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: May be required to work long or unusual hours during peak operational periods Position Qualifications Option 1: 30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software. OR Option 2 (Must meet all bulleted criteria in this option): Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field 6 mos. exp. or 6 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software. OR Option 3 12 mos. exp. as Financial Associate, 66561. OR Equivalent Of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment Noted Above. NOTE: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 mos. of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications. Cash Management plans and manages all federal cash draws, refunds, and reconciliations to ensure accountability of all funds.
