Private Equity Analyst
Amplify Capital
About Amplify Capital Amplify Capital is a Denver-based private equity firm providing opportunistic growth capital across businesses, real estate, and other high-conviction investments. We partner with proven operators and established businesses that are ready to scale. Our approach is disciplined, relationship-driven, and focused on investing in opportunities that are already working. We combine capital, operational experience, strategic resources, and a strong network to help our portfolio companies and investments reach their full potential. Amplify Capital operates with a lean, entrepreneurial team in which every team member is hands-on, every investment decision is deliberate, and every dollar deployed is backed by conviction. Mission of the Role Amplify Capital is seeking a results-driven Investment Analyst to support the evaluation, execution, and ongoing management of investments across private equity and real estate. The Investment Analyst will participate in the full investment lifecycle, including opportunity sourcing, financial modeling, underwriting, due diligence, transaction execution, fund administration, asset management, and investor reporting. The position will be responsible for conducting financial and risk analyses, developing and tracking key performance indicators, preparing investment materials, and monitoring the performance of portfolio companies and real estate assets. This position offers exposure to all areas of Amplify Capital and the opportunity to work directly with firm leadership, operating partners, property management teams, investors, lenders, and other third-party professionals. The successful candidate will have strong analytical, critical-thinking, communication, and execution skills. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of projects, produces consistently high-quality work, and thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving, and high-performing culture. Key Outcomes and Responsibilities Investment Analysis and Underwriting Evaluate prospective investments across operating businesses, real estate, and other opportunistic investment strategies. Build and maintain detailed financial models for debt and equity investments. Calculate and analyze NOI, EBITDA, DSCR, debt yield, leverage, cash-on-cash return, equity multiple, IRR, and other relevant return metrics. Model partnership structures, preferred returns, distribution waterfalls, and multiple financing and exit scenarios. Conduct sensitivity analyses to evaluate downside risk, operating assumptions, capital requirements, and potential investment outcomes. Prepare investment memoranda, executive summaries, presentations, and recommendations for firm leadership. Support market research, competitive analysis, valuation exercises, and investment due diligence. Support the full lifecycle of business and real estate transactions, from initial evaluation through closing. Coordinate due diligence materials, financial records, data rooms, third-party reports, lender requirements, and transaction checklists. Work with attorneys, accountants, lenders, brokers, consultants, operators, and other transaction professionals. Track transaction milestones, deliverables, open items, and closing requirements. Assist leadership in sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities. Portfolio and Asset Management Monitor the financial and operational performance of portfolio companies and real estate investments. Develop and maintain asset-level and company-level business plans, budgets, forecasts, and performance dashboards. Establish and track KPIs that provide timely visibility into financial performance, operating trends, risks, and opportunities. Compare actual performance against budgets, underwriting assumptions, prior periods, and investment objectives. Identify revenue-enhancement, expense-control, and operational-improvement opportunities. Evaluate capital improvement and renovation projects, including anticipated costs, timing, and return on investment. Assist in developing strategies designed to maximize cash flow, preserve assets, and increase long-term portfolio value. Prepare clear recommendations and help ensure identified initiatives are implemented and tracked to completion. Work with third-party property management teams to maximize revenue, NOI, asset preservation, and overall investment performance. Coordinate with property management and capital project teams to complete annual budgets and long‑term capital‑needs assessments. Review occupancy, leasing activity, rent trends, concessions, delinquency, operating expenses, capital expenditures, and other property‑level metrics. Develop a detailed understanding of each market, submarket, competitive set, and the economic factors affecting asset performance. Proactively identify operational concerns and collaborate with management teams to develop and implement corrective action plans. Participate in asset‑management calls, property reviews, site visits, and annual planning processes. Fund Administration and Investor Reporting Support the administration and financial analysis required throughout the lifecycle of each investment and fund. Assist with capital calls, distributions, investor allocations, fund‑level reporting, and performance calculations. Prepare monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and annual reports summarizing property, portfolio, fund, and investment performance. Assist with investor presentations, written updates, financial reports, owner calls, and new investment offerings. Maintain accurate investment records, financial information, reporting schedules, and supporting documentation. Oversee the administration, accuracy, and ongoing maintenance of the firm’s investor portal. Coordinate with fund administrators, accountants, tax professionals, attorneys, and other external partners as needed. Competencies You’ll Need Financial and Analytical Capability Strong financial acumen and an understanding of investment, financing, and return objectives. Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to build, review, and interpret financial models, budgets, forecasts, and cash‑flow projections. Ability to assess risk, challenge assumptions, and communicate conclusions clearly. Ownership and Execution A strong sense of personal accountability and the ability to take ownership of assignments from beginning to completion. Consistent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high‑quality work. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Initiative and Judgment Ability to recognize opportunities, anticipate needs, and act proactively. Sound judgment and the confidence to make recommendations based on available information. Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn new businesses, industries, markets, and investment structures. Humility and self‑awareness to ask questions or seek assistance when appropriate. Communication Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills. Ability to translate complex financial and operational information into clear, actionable conclusions. Comfort communicating professionally with investors, operators, property managers, lenders, and advisors. Ability to prepare polished investment reports, presentations, investor correspondence, and executive‑level materials. A team‑first attitude and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of personalities and professional disciplines. Ability to build productive relationships with internal leadership, portfolio‑company teams, and external partners. A willingness to contribute wherever needed within a lean and entrepreneurial organization. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field. One or more years of relevant professional experience; qualifying internship experience will be considered. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, cash‑flow forecasting, budgets, investment returns, and distribution calculations. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and the broader Microsoft Office suite. Foundational understanding of financial statements, investment analysis, and corporate or real‑estate finance. Experience with private equity, investment banking, commercial real estate, asset management, transaction advisory, accounting, or corporate finance is preferred. Familiarity with capital improvement projects, value‑add investment strategies, fund administration, or investor reporting is beneficial. Ability and willingness to work full‑time from Amplify Capital’s Denver office. Why Join Amplify Capital? This is an opportunity to join a growing private equity firm and gain meaningful exposure to the complete investment process. Unlike a narrowly defined analyst position, this role provides direct involvement in sourcing, underwriting, transaction execution, portfolio operations, asset management, fund administration, and investor communications. The Investment Analyst will work directly with experienced firm leadership and play an important role in evaluating opportunities, improving investment performance, and helping Amplify Capital scale what works. #J-18808-Ljbffr
