Under the guidance of the Business Operations Manager, you'll play a vital role in creating a positive experience for our students beyond the classroom. From overseeing lunch, recess, to managing arrival and dismissal procedures, you'll ensure every aspect of our school day runs seamlessly and safely. Plus, you'll have the rewarding opportunity to foster culturally appropriate behavior among our students throughout these daily activities.Operations Specialist are a critical part of our school community. Operations Specialists will support all other tasks and projects assigned by the Business Operations Manager or the Operations Coordinator.Scheduled work hours: 7:00am-4:30pm, Monday - FridayLocation: Rocketship Nashville Northeast Elementary - 2526 Dickerson Pike, Nashville TN 37207ResponsibilitiesSupervise and monitor students during assigned lunch and recess periods.Supervise and monitor students while riding the bus.Implement all site rules and safety regulations in alignment with Rocketship's classroom culture.Assist with minor custodial tasks around the school, including but not limited to refilling classroom and restroom supplies, picking up trash and debris around the building, and addressing messes and spills.Report any unsafe conditions, including faulty equipment, to administrators immediately.Ensure a safe and efficient arrival and dismissal process for all students before and after school hours.Utilize appropriate disciplinary procedures and techniques in accordance with the school's discipline plan.Attend staff meetings and in-service training as required for the position.RequirementsCommitment to Rocketship's mission, vision, and goalsPassion for working with childrenPrevious experience managing and/or teaching groups of elementary-age students is strongly preferredExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage and work closely with a wide range of staff membersAbility to learn laws, rules, practices and procedures related to public education and specific to Rocketship Public SchoolsFlexibility and a willingness to learn$20 - $25 an hourPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
