The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:/pulliEnsure completion of new patient information packet including consents, insurance forms and other clinical documents/liliVerify and update computer system with patient demographic and insurance information/liliSchedule appointments for follow-up visits and procedures in the computer system/liliDetermine the appropriate provider, length and time of appointment/liliAccurately post charges in the computer system to the proper patient account/liliCollect and post payments from patients and prepare patient receipts/liliMaintain and responsible for cash drawer (batch) and balances and closes cash drawer/liliAnswer basic questions about patients bills and insurance/liliDirect patients to appropriate clinical area/liliClose and secure office at the end of shift/liliOther duties as assigned/li/ulh3Minimum Qualifications/h3pThe following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:/ph3Education and Formal Training:/h3ulliHigh school diploma or equivalent required/li/ulh3Work Experience:/h3ulli1 year clerical experience required/lili1 year medical business office or significant public contact experience preferred/li/ulh3Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:/h3ulliAbility to deal with patients under stress/liliGood planning and organizational abilities/liliSpeaking and hearing to converse with the public/liliOffice equipment skills/li/ulh3Physical Requirements:/h3ulliAbility to see and read printed data and computer screens/liliManual dexterity/liliVisual and auditory acuity to collect information/liliVerbal communication skills/liliAbility to lift, stoop, bend, kneel, reach and sit for extended periods of time/li/ulpRequired Licenses and Certifications/ppCape Fear Valley Health System is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/p/div
