Title Dental assistant Job Description Front-Desk Administration & Intake: Greet patients warmly upon arrival, manage multi-line phone networks, handle patient check-in protocols, and accurately verify patient information using advanced EMR/EHR platforms like Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Chairside Dental Assisting: Provide proactive, reliable chairside support during various general dentistry procedures by prepping dental instruments, managing materials, and prioritizing patient comfort. Diagnostic Imaging: Capture precise dental X-rays and digital diagnostics safely and efficiently under clinical supervision. Scheduling & Flow Management: Maximize patient flow and schedule follow-up cleanings or treatments seamlessly using office management software. Insurance Coordination & Billing: Cross-train to navigate medical insurance verification, process claim requests, and handle essential billing using industry-leading healthcare software (such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth). Regulatory Compliance: Review dental documentation, update care plans, file physical or digital dental charts, and protect patient information in absolute compliance with HIPAA regulations. Salary Range full-time $20 - $23 per hour - Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience. Requirements Dentrix Eaglesoft Preferred Experience: Background working inside a fast-paced dental practice or medical clinic setting is highly preferred. Software & Coding Literacy: Prior exposure or familiarity with practice software (Dentrix/Eaglesoft), medical terminology, or basic data entry (10-key typing) is an exceptional asset. Understanding of billing frameworks (CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding) is highly valued. Insurance Navigation: Basic familiarity with private insurance verification processes, third-party payers, or Medicare documentation. Regulatory Knowledge: Solid foundation of HIPAA compliance standards to securely handle confidential health information. Communication Traits: Exceptional phone etiquette, high-energy customer service skills, and a friendly attitude. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or other languages) are a massive plus to better assist our diverse Fremont patient family!
