Our core values—Honesty, Trust, and Dependability—guide everything we do.About the RoleThe Production Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of production equipment, including proper machine setup and job execution according to standard operating procedures. This role serves as a technical expert, supporting troubleshooting efforts, mentoring operators, and contributing to process improvements and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction, Quality & Performance MonitoringMonitor machine performance and product quality throughout the shiftIdentify defects, process deviations, and equipment concerns, and take corrective actionComplete inspections, quality checks, and documentation accurately and on timeMinimize waste, scrap, downtime, and rework while maintaining production outputTechnical Operation & TroubleshootingInterpret job specifications, work orders, and instructionsPerform machine setups, changeovers, and adjustments (as trained)Troubleshoot equipment and operational issues to restore performanceEscalate complex mechanical or electrical issues to MaintenanceStandard Work & Continuous ImprovementFollow all standard operating procedures and work instructionsAssist in developing and improving SOPs and setup documentationSupport product trials, R&D activities, and process validationParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, efficiency, quality, safety)Training, Mentoring & Team SupportTrain and mentor operators on equipment operation, quality expectations, and safety practicesSupport team members to ensure smooth shift operationsDemonstrate professionalism, accountability, and teamworkCommunication & DocumentationMaintain accurate production, quality, and downtime recordsEnsure clear shift-to-shift communicationKeep supervisors informed of performance, risks, and issuesSafety, Compliance & HousekeepingFollow all safety requirements, GMPs, HACCP standards, and company policiesMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work environmentUse proper PPE and follow lockout/tagout proceduresSupport sanitation and food safety programsQualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required5–7 years of experience in printing, converting, packaging, or a similar industryStrong mechanical aptitude and advanced tool knowledgeAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesStrong communication and teamwork skillsDetail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentDependable, trustworthy, and professionalWhy Join Team Fischer?The schedule will be Day shift - Monday through Thursday from 6:15 AM to 4:35 PM, with Fridays as needed.
