## Job Title: Medical Billing Specialist

### Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to perform medical billing and collections for assigned patient accounts. The Medical Billing Specialist will process insurance claims, follow up on unpaid accounts, communicate with patients and payers, post payments, and ensure accurate reimbursement while maintaining compliance with healthcare billing regulations.

### Requirements:

* High School Diploma or GED preferred
* Associate's or Technical Degree, or equivalent combination of education and related experience preferred
* Healthcare billing experience preferred
* Certified Professional Coder (CPC) – AAPC certification preferred
* Knowledge of medical billing, insurance claims, and reimbursement processes
* Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
* Proficiency with billing systems and Microsoft Office applications

### Key Responsibilities:

* Review, correct, and submit insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner.
* Communicate with patients, insurance companies, government agencies, and third-party payers regarding billing and reimbursement.
* Review unpaid accounts and initiate appropriate collection and follow-up activities.
* Resolve denied and past-due claims to maximize reimbursement.
* Calculate and process write-offs, debit adjustments, and credit adjustments.
* Post insurance and patient payments accurately to the appropriate accounts.
* Calculate, verify, and post contractual adjustments.
* Maintain accurate billing documentation and account records.
* Meet established productivity and quality performance standards.
* Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
