Maintenance & Facilities Manager East Longmeadow, MA, USA Job Overview The Maintenance & Facilities Manager ensures the optimal functioning of building systems, including HVAC, mechanical, fire/life safety, elevators, power, etc., and manages vendors for grounds maintenance, cleaning, trash, snow removal, recycling. Work as an on‑site employee and respond to annual EH&S, FM Global, and Risk Management audit requirements. Responsibilities Manage plant facilities, coach staff, and conduct performance appraisals. Lead best‑practice sharing and benchmarking across the business. Oversee skilled trades department and tool crib operations. Maintain a facilities preventive maintenance program within the annual budget. Oversee contractors for facility renovation and other projects (HVAC, electrical, production floor arrangements, mechanical maintenance, removal of unused equipment, fork‑truck fleets). Responsible for plant fleet vehicle maintenance and approved driver program. Maintain fire‑evacuation plan and disaster response plan; serve as facility Emergency Response Coordinator. Work with management on design changes, equipment specifications/substitutions, and purchasing requirements. Maintain up‑to‑date records for all state, federal, and insurance inspections. Collaborate with Environmental Health & Safety and Security to fulfill roadmap and resource requirements. Support tooling requirements for metalworking dies, sharpening, heat‑treating dies as needed. Comply with Plant Environmental Health & Safety policies and regulatory requirements. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Knowledge of facilities maintenance and industrial setting requirements. Familiarity with manufacturing environment. Demonstrated prior experience in a significant managerial role supporting operations. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts. Strong project planning and organizational skills. Effective verbal and written communication with diverse audiences. Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Office and a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Understanding and support of company policies and procedures. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $95,600.00 – $153,900.00 (annual full‑time).
