You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site.Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for our patients.Greet and prepare patients, collect vital signs, medical history, medications, allergies, and assist with examinations and patient mobility.Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, basic laboratory procedures, administer approved medications, communicate lab results, and support diagnostic testing.Document patient encounters, update electronic medical records, review records for accuracy, and ensure compliance with legal and confidentiality requirements.Schedule appointments, diagnostic services, referrals, and coordinate patient flow and follow-up care across departments and providers.Prepare and sterilize instruments, maintain exam rooms, manage supplies and equipment, and ensure a safe, organized clinical environmentProvide patient education, handle telephone communications, verify insurance, process registrations, collect payments, and resolve routine issues while escalating concerns as needed.Required:High School Graduate General Studies, orHigh School GED General Studies andCertificate Other completion of a Medical Assistant certification program at an accredited institution or validation of equivalent military training (i.e. Hospital Corpsman) that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.Medical Assistant Certification: WA, upon hireAmerican Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hirePreferred:1-3 years One year of work experience as a Medical AssistantVirginia Mason Franciscan Health has a rich history of providing exceptional healthcare, dating back to 1891.
