Senior Specialist, Product Development

Responsibilities Execute tactical and strategic changes under the direction of the Line of Business leader to achieve operational plan objectives. Collect, document, and analyze data from various sources to evaluate new products, programs, initiatives, and market opportunities, supporting policy language, underwriting guidelines, and pricing. Assist with form development for all three lines of business, building coverage enhancements and protecting the portfolio. Facilitate guideline change requests in response to market changes, profitability concerns, or judicial changes. Support the Product Development team in prioritizing projects and initiatives to meet strategic and operational goals. Research, create, and implement new or enhanced products, initiatives, and market opportunities, including form development, underwriting guidelines, and pricing. Maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers. Act as a subject‑matter expert within the department to provide training, develop business requirements for IT developers, and QA newly implemented product initiatives or projects. Collaborate with other departments—Production Underwriting, Marketing, Actuarial, Strategic Operations & Solutions, and IT—to ensure successful implementation and communication of new initiatives and guideline changes. Assist in monitoring product line performance—including production, profitability, and auditing—to ensure risk quality and identify opportunities for growth. Maintain working knowledge of all commercial lines products and programs, risk appetite, and underwriting philosophy. Additional responsibilities as requested by Product Innovation Leadership. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required. AIS, ASLI, AU or CPCU are preferred. 5-10 years of commercial property & casualty insurance underwriting experience required. 3 years of commercial lines Excess & Surplus experience preferred. Experience navigating ISO and other regulatory service organizations. Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to multi‑task and adapt to a fast‑paced environment.
