Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg Tele

RN – Med-Surg/Telemetry

Contract: 13 weeks. Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Weekend requirement: Every other weekend. Holiday requirement: Available to work every other holiday, if needed.

Unit: MS/Tele (specific unit assignment at time of offer). Ratios: 1:5 to 1:7.

Active New York RN license required (pending licenses not accepted). Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience within the past 6 months. Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS (valid NIHSS required with submission). EPIC charting experience is mandatory. Key clinical skills: Cardiac monitoring; dysrhythmia interpretation/management; IV therapy/phlebotomy; oxygen delivery and non-invasive airway management; isolation precautions/PPE.

Provide nursing care according to established protocols and procedures. Monitor patient vital signs and symptoms, and communicate changes to the healthcare team. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare provider. Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures. Participate in rapid response/code teams as necessary. Maintain accurate patient records and charting in the electronic medical record system.
