Wire Cutter

This role focuses on accurately pulling, cutting, and organizing wire to fulfill customer orders in a high-volume warehouse environment. You will work primarily in the wire department, using cutting tools and machinery to handle very dense and heavy wire, while supporting general warehouse operations and occasional inventory tasks. The position offers long-term stability and growth potential as part of a major data center project.

Responsibilities

• Pull wire for customer orders according to specifications and ensure accuracy in length and type.
• Bundle multiple wires together, including pulling up to three wires at once to create new spools.
• Handle very dense and heavy wire, including wire up to approximately 1 inch thick, and safely manage multiple heavy lines simultaneously.
• Use electrical crimpers, cutters, and cutting machines to measure and cut wire to precise lengths.
• Organize, label, and store spools of wire and other materials in the designated wire area.
• Assist with occasional inventory counts and audits within the wire department.
• Support general labor and warehouse operations, including order picking, to learn and follow established warehouse flow and processes.
• Use a forklift, if trained and authorized, to place spools on racks and retrieve them from racking as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures when lifting, moving, cutting, and storing heavy materials.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize orders and maintain an efficient workflow.
• Remain flexible and willing to work at multiple warehouse locations based on workload and project needs.

Essential Skills

• Ability to safely lift up to 75 pounds independently on a frequent basis.
• Experience performing general labor tasks in a warehouse or industrial environment.
• Ability to measure wire accurately and cut to specified lengths using hand tools and machines.
• Comfort working with electrical crimpers, cutters, and related cutting equipment.
• Strong attention to detail when pulling, bundling, and labeling wire for customer orders.
• Willingness to train in order picking and warehouse operations to understand facility workflows.
• Flexibility to work at multiple warehouse locations as required by workload and project demands.
• Commitment to following safety protocols when handling heavy and dense materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Forklift experience or certification is a plus and may be used to move and rack spools of wire.
• Familiarity with electrical components and wire types is beneficial.
• Comfort working in a large warehouse environment, specifically within a specialized wire area.
• Interest in long-term employment supporting a multi-year data center project.
• Ability to learn new tools, equipment, and processes quickly during cross-training.

Work Environment

You will begin training at a St. Louis warehouse and later transition to a large Earth City warehouse to support a major data center project, with the project forecasted to last 35 years. The facility is expansive, at approximately 125,000 square feet, but this role focuses specifically on the wire area. Work involves frequent lifting of up to 75 pounds, handling very dense and heavy wire, and operating in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse setting. You may be asked to move between the two warehouse locations based on workload, with at least one days notice for any location changes. The environment includes the use of electrical crimpers, cutters, and wire-cutting machines, and may involve forklift use for trained and authorized employees. Safety, proper handling of heavy materials, and adherence to warehouse procedures are central to the daily work experience.

This is a Contract position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
