POSITION DETAILS

• Job Title: Resource Special Education Teacher

• Location: Kansas City, MO

• Contract Dates: August 16, 2026 – May 21, 2027

• Grade Levels: Elementary through High School (multiple openings available)

• Hours: Full-Time | Monday through Friday

• Pay: Competitive, based on experience

WHAT YOU'LL DO

------------------

• Provide targeted, small group and individualized instruction to students with disabilities in a resource room setting

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs aligned with each student’s academic, behavioral, and functional goals

• Collaborate with general education teachers to support student access to the curriculum

• Track and document student progress through ongoing data collection and progress monitoring

• Communicate regularly with families, administrators, and multidisciplinary team members

• Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and team planning sessions

• Provide a structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

------------------

Required:

• Active Missouri Special Education teaching license

• Experience working with students with disabilities in a resource or inclusive setting preferred

• Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and IDEA compliance

Preferred:

• Experience at the elementary, middle, or high school level in a resource room setting

• Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum to meet diverse learner needs

• Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills

• Passion for building meaningful relationships with students, families, and school teams
