Senior Strategist

Job Overview Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for experienced and motivated business-oriented technologists who possess a blend of business knowledge, interpersonal skills, and technological depth in analytics/big data, machine learning, and generative artificial intelligence. This role focuses on supporting customers to enhance their business or operational outcomes through advanced emerging technologies. Key Responsibilities Bring alignment between customer technologists and business leaders; help them explore generative AI and machine learning, and develop a roadmap to deliver business value effectively. Discuss complex industry-specific business concepts with executives, line managers, and technologists. Engage with AWS teams—including applied scientists, solutions architects, business development, marketing, industry specialists, partners, and regional organizations. Drive large, complex sales opportunities from ideation, through vision building and scoping, all the way to closure and delivery. Conduct workshop sessions to identify opportunities with customers to scope how they could deliver business value using generative AI or machine learning. Serve as a trusted customer advocate, assessing and delivering best practices around program delivery, project approaches, and business measurement, connecting business value to a scalable, repeatable, extensible approach. Basic Qualifications 7+ years of cloud architecture and solution implementation experience. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent. 6+ years of scientists or machine learning engineers management experience. Experience working in or supporting sales. Experience in management consulting, strategy, technology, venture capital, or a related industry. Experience launching technical programs, projects, or related work that include big data, analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Preferred Qualifications Experience presenting complex ideas in writing in the form of white papers, proposals, or other formal strategy documents. Master's degree or above in Management, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or Marketing. Participation in the product management and marketing lifecycles (directly or indirectly). Experience presenting to audiences of 5 to 50 people across functional levels and backgrounds. Passion for educating, training, designing, and building solutions for diverse and challenging customers, from midsized organizations to Fortune 100 customers. Compensation & Benefits Base salary ranges: 176,600.00 – 239,000.00 USD annually (Mountain View, CA); 169,000.00 – 228,600.00 USD annually (New York, NY); 153,600.00 – 207,800.00 USD annually (Austin, TX); 153,600.00 – 207,800.00 USD annually (Seattle, WA).
