Corporate Controller

Private Equity-Backed Industrial Services Company | Southern DFW Area

We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced Corporate Controller to join a growing, private equity-backed industrial services organization in the southern DFW area .

This is a considerably broader opportunity than a traditional Controller position. The company is looking for a hands-on financial leader who can oversee the accounting function while also working closely with executive leadership, operations and the private equity sponsor.

The position offers significant visibility and influence within the organization and, for the right individual, potential to evolve into a CFO-level role as the company continues to grow .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and year-end close and consolidated U.S. GAAP reporting.
• Oversee multi-entity and multi-location accounting, including intercompany eliminations and multi-currency activity.
• Develop management reporting, financial analysis and KPI dashboards.
• Serve as a functional financial leader for the company's ERP environment , improving processes, controls and data integrity.
• Oversee project accounting, job costing, WIP, revenue recognition and project profitability.
• Lead annual budgeting and rolling P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow forecasting.
• Partner with operations to analyze location and project profitability and support pricing and bid decisions.
• Manage working capital, including AR, collections, AP, inventory, WIP and cash forecasting.
• Prepare financial reporting and analysis for executive leadership, lenders, the private equity sponsor and board.
• Support value-creation initiatives, process improvements and potential future acquisitions and integrations.
• Lead and develop the accounting team while remaining willing to personally handle detailed accounting and analytical work when needed.

Ideal Background

• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• 3–5+ years in a Controller, Assistant Controller or comparable financial leadership role.
• Experience within industrial services, field services, construction, project-based manufacturing or a similar operational environment .
• Multi-location and/or multi-entity accounting experience.
• Private equity-backed or highly leveraged company experience is highly desirable.
• Epicor Kinetic, Epicor or other sophisticated ERP experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with job costing, WIP and project-based accounting.
• Advanced Excel, financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• CPA strongly preferred.

Leadership Style

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, entrepreneurial, process-oriented and comfortable operating at both the strategic and detailed levels .

This individual should be equally comfortable leading an accounting team, improving systems and processes, digging into financial data and partnering directly with operational leaders.

The ability to translate financial information into actionable business insights for non-financial executives will be particularly important.

Location & Travel

The position is primarily on-site in the southern DFW area , with the possibility of some flexibility once the individual is fully integrated into the organization.

Periodic travel to company locations and meetings with ownership and leadership should be expected.
