About the Opportunity

We are seeking a high-performing Business Development Officer – SBA Lending to join a leading nationwide commercial bank recognized as a top SBA lender.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SBA lending professional and relationship-driven business developer who has a strong referral network, a proven ability to originate commercial financing, and a track record of $20M+ in annual loan production .

The position is fully remote and offers significant earning potential through an aggressive, performance-based compensation structure.

What You'll Do

• Originate and close SBA 7(a), SBA 504, USDA, Express, ABL, equipment financing, and other commercial loans .
• Develop and maintain relationships with small business owners, SBA brokers, CPAs, attorneys, commercial brokers, and other referral partners .
• Generate new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and relationship-based selling.
• Identify borrowers' financing needs and recommend appropriate lending solutions.
• Manage the full loan origination lifecycle from lead generation through closing and funding .
• Prepare complete loan applications and financing packages for Underwriting.
• Partner with Credit and Underwriting teams to structure transactions and obtain approvals.
• Present credit opportunities to the Credit Committee when required.
• Obtain customer commitments and coordinate closing and funding activities.
• Build and maintain a strong national lending pipeline.
• Manage existing customer and referral relationships to drive repeat and referral business.
• Maintain accurate pipeline and customer information in Salesforce or comparable CRM/loan-origination systems .
• Develop and execute business development strategies to expand market penetration.
• Consistently achieve or exceed annual loan production and revenue goals.
• Identify and manage credit, compliance, and risk considerations throughout the origination process.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of sales experience in SBA lending, commercial banking, financial services, or related lending environments.
• Strong hands-on SBA lending experience is required.
• Proven track record of originating commercial and SBA loans.
• $20M+ in annual loan production during each of the past three years.
• Strong commercial lending, credit analysis, and loan structuring skills.
• Experience analyzing financial statements and business cash flow.
• Strong understanding of SBA lending programs, requirements, and processes .
• Demonstrated ability to develop new business and expand customer relationships.
• Strong B2B sales and relationship management skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to independently manage a nationwide pipeline and customer portfolio.
• Experience with Salesforce or a comparable CRM/loan-origination platform .

• Established referral network within the SBA/small business lending community .
• Active relationships with SBA brokers, CPAs, attorneys, business advisors, and commercial referral sources.
• Experience with multiple commercial lending products, including:
  • SBA 7(a) / SBA 504

  • Asset-Based Lending (ABL)
  • Equipment Financing
  • Commercial Real Estate
  • Commercial Construction
• Consistent history of exceeding production goals.
• Strong understanding of the small business owner and entrepreneurial lending market.
