Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgical Specialty Unit

Position Overview: This role involves providing direct nursing care within various specialty units, including Adult Oncology, Cardiology, Surgery, Neuroscience, and more. The nurse will work independently across patient age groups, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and delivering safe, personalized care. Key Responsibilities Implement and document individualized care plans, including discharge planning and patient education. Assist with tests, procedures, and emergency responses. Administer medications safely and accurately, including IV medications. Maintain comprehensive medical records and respond to patient inquiries. Participate in orientation, training, and precepting new staff. Promote a safe, therapeutic environment and support patient safety initiatives. Engage in professional development through ongoing education and literature review. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an accredited nursing program with at least 1 year of relevant experience. Current RN license in the state or reciprocal jurisdiction. CPR/BLS certification (must obtain within 30 days if not already certified). Complete required certifications and competencies per departmental standards. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, bilingual skills (English/Spanish or other languages), and specialty certifications. Additional Requirements: Ability to work a minimum number of shifts, including weekends and holidays, with differential pay. Must meet physical demands, including lifting and exertion.
