Tool Room CNC Machinist-2

Position: Tool Room CNC Machinist – 2nd Shift Reporting to: Engineering Manager / Tony Hernandez (2nd Shift) Location: United States, Missouri, St.Louis Overview Tool Room CNC Machinist with machining experience to support stamping die operations. Work with both manual and CNC machine tools in a well‑equipped tool room, supporting repair and maintenance of forming and progressive stamping dies alongside experienced tool and die makers. Responsibilities Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools. Support die repair and maintenance operations. Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Perform precision machining operations. Use measuring instruments and quality control tools. Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and work orders to determine dimensions and tolerances. Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each job. Set up, operate, and disassemble manual and CNC machine tools such as mills and lathes. Monitor machine speeds and operations to maintain accuracy and quality. Produce, repair, and modify precision tools, dies, molds, and other parts. Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools to ensure they meet specifications. Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on machinery. Troubleshoot machine or programming issues. Adhere to safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Machining experience required (manual and/or CNC). Ability to read technical drawings and geometric dimensioning. Experience with measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, scales, height gauges). Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem‑solving skills. Manual dexterity and good hand‑eye coordination. Proficiency with blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning. Familiarity with CNC programming (G‑code) and CAM software. Experience with progressive stamping dies maintenance (desired). Experience with metallurgical knowledge and properties of metals (desired). Ability to lift heavy objects. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in teams. Technical training in machining or manufacturing is required with up to 4 years into an apprenticeship program. Microsoft Office proficiency. Safety‑focused mindset. Pay & Work Model Hourly pay: $33.07 – $40.46 Shift premium for 2nd & 3rd shift. Work model: Onsite.
