Now Hiring Position: Field Project Manager (Superintendent) Location: Jacksonville, FL Job Id: 501 # of Openings: 1 FIELD PROJECT MANAGER (SUPERINTENDENT) ENTACT is a premier national provider of environmental, civil, and geotechnical construction services. We directly self‑perform environmental remediation and geotechnical construction work, using in‑house personnel and equipment resources. ENTACT’s roster includes seasoned project managers, field engineers, technical and regulatory professionals, certified safety professionals, certified quality control managers, equipment operators, field mechanics, and technicians, with diverse capabilities and experience. The position of Field Project Manager will assume the pivotal role of overseeing all on‑site project operations, meticulously ensuring that projects are executed with the utmost focus and adherence to safety, schedule, budget, and site plans. This individual will exhibit a high level of attention to detail, adept time‑management skills, and a “lead from the front” attitude. The Associate will coordinate a diverse team of craft employees including equipment operators, laborers, subcontractors, and mechanics. The Associate must be open to periods of sustained project‑based travel. HAZWOPER training is highly preferred but not required. Must have a valid Driver’s license with no driving restrictions which interfere with job requirements. Responsibilities Ensuring all personnel comply with ENTACT safety standards and programs. Ensuring implementation and quality of project plans. Maintaining effective schedule and cost control methods. Detailed planning and coordination of work two weeks in advance. Leading on‑site meetings with project staff, subcontractors, and clients. Maintaining accurate daily field reports, schedule updates and email correspondence. Maintaining a high level of communication with craft employees, clients and ENTACT management. Responding to site changes and challenges in an affective timely manner. Cultivating and maintaining a strong relationship with the client and project oversight. Technical Knowledge Must have experience managing multiple aspects of large‑scale environmental projects and services. Exposure to and familiarity with any of the following areas of technical knowledge is highly desirable but not all are required: Scope & Services Excavation/Backfilling Cap and Containment Installation Dewatering & Water Treatment Lead Abatement MGP (Manufactured Gas Plant) Coal Ash Impoundment & Landfill Closure Mine Reclamation and Remediation Active Refineries Residential Remediation Slurry Wall Installation Drilling Dredging Sedimentation and erosion control Equipment & Maintenance Excavator with GPS capabilities and Demolition attachments Bulldozer with GPS capabilities Loader with scales Water Truck Man Lift/Scissor Lift Articulating Dump Truck Water Pump Generators Fleet Vehicles Powered hand tools Mathematical Conversions Slopes Cubic Yards Square FootageDensity Conversions Project Plans Interpretation Scaling Specifications Skills / Experience Required Ability to utilize a computer and associated software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Email and Adobe Acrobat. Ability to conduct onsite meetings with clients, subcontractors, and personnel. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs related to documentation, including plans, specifications, budget, safety policies, and HR policies. Physical Demands / Visual Requirements Ability to communicate effectively with management, co‑workers, vendors, both individually and in front of a group. Good reasoning ability and decision‑making skills. Able to understand and utilize reports, memos, and other documents to conduct business. Must be able to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. Work requires the ability to hear normal conversation, see near objects, and speak clearly. Regular use of the phone, email, text, teams and computer for communication. Sitting for extended period. No heavy lifting is expected. Exertion of up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects may be required. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform such activities as viewing a computer, extensive reading, preparing and analyzing data and figures and decipher colour. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computers, calculators, copiers, and fax machines. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, and government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Must be capable of working under physical stress conditions such as heat stress and cold stress during various weather conditions and potentially long workdays. Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders to reach and work from elevated platforms. Ability to grip handrails/ladders with both hands. Hot, cold and pressure sensitivity in hands and feet. Must have a normal sense of smell. Donning of varying types of personal protective equipment (PPE) as project requirements and conditions warrant to include respirators. Minimum PPE includes steel toe safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection and hi‑visibility safety vest. Working in loud or noisy environments. Ability to give clear and precise verbal and written instruction to all crew members including when under pressure. Match or detect differences between colours, including shades of colour and brightness. See objects or movement of objects to one’s side when the eyes are focused forward. Hear the direction from which a sound originated. Must be able to walk on broken, unfirm, uneven ground. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Job success often hinges upon interpersonal communication and relationship development skills, and job tasks require frequent interchange and successful completion depends in large part upon effective interaction and communication with others. Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. Ability to safely travel by air, car, train or bus. Environmental / Atmospheric Conditions Outside construction site, onsite office space. The terrain is rugged and may be difficult to navigate. Confined spaces. Noisy work environments controlled to levels at or below exposure limits. Contaminated atmosphere exposures (i.e. fumes, vapours, lead dust, H2S, etc.) controlled to levels at or below exposure limits. Personal Protective Equipment Different types of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be worn including, but not limited to hard hat, hearing protection such as ear plugs or muffs, eye protection such as safety glasses, goggles, face shield, etc., welders helmet, safety vest, various types of gloves including leather, Nitrile, latex, etc., steel toe boots, and various respiratory protection such as dust masks, half face and full face respirators, SCBAs, APRs, etc. may be required depending on site conditions. Respirator use may require that the user be clean shaven.
