Project Management Specialist

Summary About the Position: The Project Management Specialist accomplishes many project management duties in the day to day management of each project. The degree of oversight by the Project Manager will depend on the complexity of the project. The incumbent is responsible for managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, development, design, construction, and direction of assigned projects. - At the full performance grade, you will:
- Responsible for managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, development, design, construction, and direction of assigned projects.
- Control and manage project milestones and budgets from preliminary stages through completion.
- Monitor project funds allocated to District elements, consistent with scheduled work, and measures and monitors performance to assure commitments of all parties are being maintained.
- Reviews project progress, measuring performance and taking necessary corrective actions to maintain agreed upon schedule and cost.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

- This position has promotion potential to the GS-11 level. Career ladder promotions are not guaranteed. An employee can only be promoted when he/she demonstrates ability to work at a higher level, and when the promotion is in line with the agency's authorized ceiling and staffing policies. Additionally, the decision to promote lies with an authorizing official, who makes that determination based on a number of factors
