Head Bookkeeper - Controller (Dealership Experience Required)

Job Summary:

The Controller will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the accounting functions, ensuring financial integrity, and driving strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities:

  Financial Oversight:

  
  
  • Manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  
  
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  Budgeting and Forecasting:

  
  
  • Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  
  
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, highlighting trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
  
  


• 
  

  Compliance and Audit:

  
  
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
  
  
  • Coordinate and oversee internal and external audits.

  Process Optimization:

  
  
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  
  
  • Identify and execute process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

  Leadership:

  
  
  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  
  
  • Collaborate with department managers to align financial goals with operational objectives.

  Strategic Support:

  
  
  • Provide financial insights to support executive decision-making.
  
  
  • Assist with mergers, acquisitions, and other business growth opportunities as needed.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in the automotive or dealership industry.


• Strong knowledge of dealership management systems (Reynolds & Reynolds plus) and accounting software.


• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.


• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.


• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations.
