Make a positive impact in the school community by utilizing your nursing expertise in a dynamic educational setting near Berwyn, IL. As a contract Registered Nurse or Certified School Nurse, you’ll play a vital role in supporting students’ health and wellbeing while collaborating with faculty and staff.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential preferred
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a healthcare or educational environment
- Strong ability to assess and respond to student health needs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students and manage acute and chronic health issues
- Administer medications and monitor students with special health needs
- Conduct health screenings, immunization reviews, and maintain accurate health records
- Act as a liaison between families, healthcare providers, and school personnel
- Educate students and staff on wellness, hygiene, and disease prevention
- Respond to medical emergencies and develop care plans
- Participate in IEP or 504 meetings as needed
