The Edgewater Police Department is seeking enthusiastic and team-oriented individuals to immediately fill the position of
POST-Certified Police Officer. The City of Edgewater is a city of approximately 5,000 residents nestled between the cities of Denver, Wheat Ridge, and Lakewood. Edgewater offers a unique small-town atmosphere within minutes of the downtown Denver area.

- Police Officer Step Plan:
The Edgewater Police Department has a competitive pay structure with a 7-step plan.*Two lateral entry points depending on experience & education.
Requirements: Required Skills/Abilities:· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Thorough understanding of police and investigative procedures, processes, and techniques.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
· Extensive knowledge of criminal law and procedure.
· Ability to correctly and safely handle and operate weapons and police equipment.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn investigative tools, applications, and software.
Education and Experience:· High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Political Science, Public Administration, or related field preferred.
· Graduation from police academy (Colorado POST certified) or currently in academy.
