About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Chief Underwriting Officer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing the development and management of underwriting strategy in alignment with the overall business plan. This role requires a strategic and tactical leader with a strong background in property and inland marine underwriting, including the development of products that meet the company's underwriting strategy. The Chief Underwriting Officer will also be involved in market research, leading product innovation, and working closely with the actuarial team to ensure profitable growth. Collaboration with regional teams, and the development of both internal and external relationships, is essential to the role. Applicants for the Chief Underwriting Officer position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in underwriting, with a focus on property and inland marine. The role demands a leader with a proven track record in strategic and tactical leadership, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work with integrity and strategic foresight. The ideal candidate will be agile, decisive, and have the ability to travel as needed. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, and the ability to challenge norms while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation is highly valued.
