Receiving Clerk

Position Summary of the Receiving Clerk Role at Altek Electronics:


Responsible for receiving materials procured by Altek Electronics.

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Receiving Clerk are described below, other duties may be assigned:

• Receive purchased parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials in a timely manner.
• Examine items for defects in materials, work, and damage occurring in transit.
• Compare quantity and part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order.
• Confirm required paperwork has been submitted with shipment or electronically
• Maintain quality records including inspection reports, etc.
• Document shipping issues, working with Purchasing and Quality Engineering
• Determine conformance to work instructions, IPC or J-STD standards, and internal Quality/workmanship standards
• Create Non Conforming Materials Reports when required
• Distribute chemicals to manufacturing areas
• Support with the resolution of quality problems
• Actively participate in quality initiatives by participating in problem solving, process improvements and performance measurements.
• Responsible for understanding & following company, and or manufacturing guidelines/procedures
• Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.
• Requisition and store receiving and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
• Responsible for following established safety rules & 6S

Knowledge and Skills Required to be the Receiving Clerk at Altek

• Professional communication skills
• Ability to read & understand assembly prints
• Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma / Ged or equivalent work experience in a related area.
• Work experience in the applicable area is preferred.

Working Conditions

• Work involves lifting materials and product up to 75 pounds.
