Job Posting TitleCNC Grinding Process Development SpecialistJob Description SummaryWe are searching for a CNC Grinding Development Specialist, that will lead the development, optimization, and implementation of internal diameter (ID) and outside diameter (OD) & surface grinding processes for precision components.The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience with grinding equipment, wheel selection, workholding, process parameters, coolant management, dressing technologies, and CNC grinding processes. As part of the Process Development/ Prototype Machining Group within the Driveline organization of Dauch. This will be based out of our Advanced Technology Development Center in Detroit, Michigan.Join our rapidly growing team of Process Development Specialists.Job Description:Develop and optimize ID and OD grinding processes for new and existing products.Select appropriate grinding wheels, abrasives, dressing systems, coolants, and workholding methods.Develop CNC grinding programs and optimize existing programs for quality and productivity.Conduct process trials, capability studies, and run-at-rate evaluations.Establish grinding parameters including:Wheel speedWork speedInfeed ratesPlunge and traverse cyclesSpark-outDressing frequency and parametersCoolant flow and concentrationTroubleshoot grinding issues such as:TaperOut-of-roundnessChatterBurningPoor surface finishWheel loadingDimensional instabilityExcessive wheel wear•All other duties as assigned.Required Skills and EducationMinimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in precision ID/OD grinding.Strong knowledge of CNC grinding equipment and grinding process development.Experience with grinding wheels, abrasives, dressing technologies, and coolant systems.Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.Strong understanding of dimensional tolerances and surface-finish requirements.Experience troubleshooting grinding defects and process variation.Ability to use precision measurement equipment such as micrometers, air gauges, bore gauges, profilometers, and roundness/form measurement equipment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering, quality, and production teams.Studer CNC Grind experience is a plus.About Dauch:Dauch Corporation is a premier Driveline and Metal Forming supplier serving the global automotive industry with a powertrain-agnostic product portfolio that supports electric, hybrid, and internal combustion vehicles.
