Regardless of your role, YOU improve patients’ lives every day Location: Hybrid at our North America HQ in El Segundo, CA - expectations is 3 days/ week in the office Travel: 10% - 15% across the US + Toronto, ON Director Of Accounting - Lead accounting operations across five legal entities and 4 sites in a complex, multi-country environment. This role provides strategic oversight for financial close, reporting, audits, internal controls, and accounting transformation, partnering closely with finance leadership and cross-functional teams. This is a high-impact leadership role with the opportunity to modernize regional accounting operations, influence strategy, and build a scalable, best-in-class organization. What You’ll Do Lead end-to-end monthly close and reporting (US GAAP and German GAAP) Oversee audits, statutory reporting, and technical accounting adoption Drive standardization, automation, ERP enablement, and AI innovation Strengthen internal controls, governance, and risk management Lead and develop high-performing accounting teams across multiple locations What You Bring 10+ years of progressive accounting experience 5+ years of people leadership experience, including organizational design and building high-performing teams across multiple sites Multi-entity, multi-country accounting experience (US and statutory) Strong US GAAP knowledge; ERP expertise (SAP, Oracle, or similar) Proven experience leading ERP implementations and accounting transformations Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business (CPA/MBA a plus) Who we are KARL STORZ is an independent, family-owned company headquartered in Germany’s renowned MedTech manufacturing region.
