Job Title: Mental Health Clinician Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Long Island City, NY Salary: $76,000 – $83,000 Reports To: Mental Health Clinician Supervisor About the Organization Our client is a well-established nonprofit organization with over 30 years of history serving families in New York City. The organization helps children stay safe, keeps families together, and supports newcomers navigating life in NYC. Job Summary The Mental Health Clinician utilizes trauma-informed practices — including emotional intelligence, effective communication, understanding of the impact of trauma on development, strengths-based and person-centered practice, and a resilience focus — to serve a caseload referred from programs across the agency. This role requires high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the utmost discretion in maintaining client confidentiality. Responsibilities Carry a caseload as assigned by supervisor Conduct assessments, including review of referral information and identification of client/family strengths and needs Maintain clear, timely clinical documentation via the organization's electronic clinical records platform Assist with collection of outcome data and pre/post assessments Build relationships with community stakeholders (child protective services, parents/guardians, schools, etc.) Conduct clinical sessions in-office, in-home, and virtually as needed Provide in-person psychoeducational workshops at various community-based organizations (CBOs) Travel within the community for outreach as needed May supervise MSW, MHC, or MFT interns Participate in agency meetings and trainings Requirements Current New York State licensure as LMSW/LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT, or possession of a valid limited permit Previous experience providing evidence-based clinical counseling to individuals and families Fluency in a second language preferred (Bengali, Arabic, Hindi/Urdu, or Spanish) Ability to work independently in a remote setting with a flexible schedule, including some hours outside standard business hours as needed to meet client needs Willingness to travel locally for outreach and community-based programming U.S. work authorization required Cultural competency, or willingness to learn about, the AMENAMSA communities served Excellent written and verbal communication skills Job contingent on pre-employment background check Equal opportunity employer — all individuals encouraged to apply. #J-18808-Ljbffr Ascendo-Resources
