RN Emergency Department

Job Summary:

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ER RN) provides skilled nursing care to patients in the emergency room setting, focusing on rapid assessment, stabilization, and treatment. This role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality emergency care while maintaining patient safety. The nurse will work primarily night and mid-shifts, demonstrating proficiency in trauma, pediatric, and advanced cardiac life support protocols. Responsibilities:

• Perform rapid patient assessments and triage in the emergency department.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and physician orders.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Provide emergency nursing care including trauma and pediatric emergencies.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and interventions.
• Respond to emergency situations with appropriate clinical interventions and support.
• Assist with patient transport and preparation for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
• Float to other units as needed to support staffing requirements.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Washington or active Multi-State license.
• American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or equivalent education.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in emergency nursing or equivalent acute care setting.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in a fast-paced emergency department environment.
• Strong interdisciplinary communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt to variable patient acuity and fluctuating workload.

Special Considerations:

• Must be able to float to other units as needed.
• Work environment includes emergency and trauma care settings requiring quick decision-making and resilience.

Scheduling:

• Full-time position with night and mid-shift hours.
• Shift assignments determined by department needs and staffing requirements.
