Overview
Registered Nurse – Outpatient in Saint Helena, California. This travel assignment begins 08/31/2026 and runs for 13 weeks with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Schedule is a 4x10-hour day shift. The setting is a Short Term Acute Care Hospital with outpatient surgical services, including endoscopy.

Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for outpatient surgical and endoscopy patients from preoperative assessment through PACU Phase II, following standard nursing processes.
- Monitor patients during recovery, manage vital signs, pain control, and anesthesia-related care within approved protocols.
- Administer medications and IV therapies, prepare patients for discharge, and provide clear post-visit instructions to patients and families.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient patient flow and rapid turnover.
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record; participate in discharge planning and patient education.
- Support preoperative and postoperative workflows, including readiness for phase II recovery, while maintaining a safe and healing environment.

Requirements
- Current RN license in California (state of practice)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required
- Endoscopy experience required; outpatient perioperative experience strongly preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in perioperative/outpatient settings
- BSN preferred
- Proficiency with EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems
- Comfortable with preoperative and PACU phase II workflows; ability to manage moderate sedation and rapid patient turnover
