Contract: 200 Work Days (10 Month Calendar)

Salary: Salary based on qualifications and experience

Educational Experience: preferably an Associates or higher and experience in the school setting

Organizational Relationships: Reports directly to the building principal

Establishing a consistent culture that promotes positive interactions and maintains a safe learning environment is important to foster student success and achievement. The Student Success Coordinator reports directly to the building principal and supports a safe, positive, and inclusive school climate by implementing restorative practices, enforcing the student code of conduct, coaching staff on positive classroom management strategies, promoting consistent student attendance, and collaborating with staff to implement and sustain Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Through relationship-building, proactive interventions, and restorative approaches, the Student Success Coordinator works to reduce behavioral barriers and increase student engagement and success.

Required Professional Preparation and Experience:

• Experience working with students of all ages and backgrounds
• Knowledge of childhood behavior issues and social/emotional development
• Implement and facilitate restorative practices to build relationships, repair harm, resolve conflicts, and reduce exclusionary discipline.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people.
• Support the implementation and sustainability of the district's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) by participating in data reviews, intervention planning, and progress monitoring.
• Coordinate Tier II and Tier III behavioral interventions and monitor student progress through data-informed decision making.
• Lead and support Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) initiatives, including schoolwide expectations, acknowledgments, incentives, behavior data analysis, and staff training.
• Ability to build relationships across a diverse group of stakeholders.

Major Responsibilities:

• Accurately monitor and analyze daily student attendance and discipline records; lead and maintain current systems and structures to proactively address school's areas of need.
• Mentor at-risk students through and connect them to an array of resources and services.
• Monitor student services and act as the point person of contact with services.
• Conduct formal investigations based on student, parent and adult inquiries related to school culture, discipline, and incidents.
• Support the implementation of the school's social-emotional curriculum and PBIS programs.
• Work closely and effectively with children who have behavior challenges and their families.
• Facilitate staff training on student-teacher relationships, classroom management, equitable learning environments, classroom routines, expectations, and procedures that promote a positive school culture.
• Assist teachers in establishing and implementing classroom procedures and systems that support social/emotional learning.
• Contribute to the implementation of detailed systems that ensure an effective school day: i.e. classroom transitions, morning arrival, end of day departures, school-wide transitions, cafeteria protocol, playground/recess protocol etc
• Disaggregate and analyze data to enhance programming for students and adjust policies and procedures related to discipline and attendance.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Spend time beyond the school day preparing and planning instruction and professional development.
• Work with administration to ensure implementation and accuracy of disciplinary systems.
• Use current technology for instruction and management purposes.
• Be available for consultation with parents, students, administration, and peers outside the school day, as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
