Transcat is experiencing an unprecedented growth in their service segment satisfying high growth markets in Aerospace, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences and Chemical. Recognized in the industry for setting new standards in providing fast, high quality and accredited calibration services with laboratory locations across North America.To provide onsite calibration of test equipment for customers within the specified location up to and including an 8-hour radius. Also, will have the opportunity to support the local Transcat laboratory when not traveling.ResponsibilitiesMajor Areas of Responsibility:Calibrate measurement and test equipment (M&TE) to manufacturers specificationsDetermine out of tolerance conditions for customer M&TE and calibration standardsProvide corrective action (i.e., adjustments, minor repairs) for out of tolerance conditionsUpdate and maintain proper documentation of servicesProvide customer with information regarding other services and new equipment provided by TranscatMaintain calibration standardsProvide feedback and updates regarding calibration practices and proceduresProficiency in submitting and updating required paperwork for travel and administrative purposesOther duties as assignedTravel Requirements:This is a travel position Monday through FridayWeekly overnight travel to customer's facility to provide services - home 95% of weekendsCompany pays for all lodging and expenses when away from homeQualificationsRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Calibration experience and/or equivalent training with commercial and/or biomedical measurement and test equipment (M&TE)Self-motivator requiring little or no supervisionCustomer service orientedAbility to interact with customers & coworkers in a professional mannerProficiency with MS Office and the internet; familiarity with basic database functionality3+ years driving experience with a valid driver's license and acceptable driver historyEducation and Experience:Associate degree from college or technical school; or 2-5 years of related field experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Desired Experience/ Skills:Military PMEL trainingStrong attention to detail - able to follow written instructions.Ability to plan and prioritize diversified workload and work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Physical DemandsThese physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
