Field Service Technician

Lead Electronics Service TechnicianAdvanced Energy is seeking an individual to lead and perform testing and troubleshooting of electronic equipment to meet production schedules and performance standards. This position will receive instructions on daily work and new assignments. Duties and tasks are standardized but what is performed will vary day to day.Responsibilities:Performs various production assembly operations on electronic components and sub-assembliesUses test procedures, drawings, schematics, and verbal/written instructions to test and troubleshoot unitsAdvanced knowledge of electronic testing and circuit analysis and ability to troubleshoot down to component levelWorks under minimal supervision collaboratively with leadership to drive team to meet metrics, goals, and objectivesWorks on assignments that are moderate to complex in natureUses initiative and judgment to solve problemsDisplays leadership traits by acting as a positive role model for othersMay lead a small project and provide direction to othersAbility to maintain a professional rapport with support groups and peers while achieving resultsAbility to provide seamless coverage across all product platforms with minimal training and guidanceLooked to as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for certain product platforms; provides training on products and processes as neededStrong understanding and compliance with Lean Manufacturing and 5S conceptsLooked to as a team lead for the implementation and maintenance of certain components of such conceptsAbility to manage team priorities and demonstrate a high level of initiativeInitiates and contributes to improving processes, lead times, through-put and cost reductionsAbility to troubleshoot and repair basic test equipment failuresMay assist in building and implementing new test fixturingWorks on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where the ability to recognize nonconformities is requiredCommunicates openly and effectively in a professional mannerUnderstands and follows all safety requirementsUnderstands and follows all ISO practices and proceduresMaintains fixturing, performs calibration, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenanceAssists with training other AE employees in established processesPerforms the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assembliesDocuments test results accuratelyMay act as the technical interface with other departmentsModels professional and positive work ethicsConsiders the impact of quality on the customers when making decisionsAbility to effectively work in a team environmentWork Environment:Works in a manufacturing environment which may be noisy and fast pacedMany tasks are repetitive in motion and include the use of electronic assembly equipmentOvertime (OT) may be required in times of increased productionPhysical Requirements:Standing 40%Walking 20%Sitting 40%Carrying 30lbsPushing 50lbsPulling 50lbsLifting 50lbs (unassisted) and up to 100lbs (assisted)Qualifications:Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math functionsSoldering skills requiredAbility to perform basic electro/mechanical assembly skillsComponent identification and the ability to read technical assembly documentation and schematics requiredBasic computer knowledge6+ years' experience in electrical circuits and assemblies testingAdvanced knowledge of electro-mechanical testing and circuit analysisProven ability and experience maintaining flexibility and being able to adapt in a team environmentKnowledge and understanding of ESD practicesAAS degree in electronics or equivalent preferred and completion of the AE technician testCompensation:As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
