Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care is seeking a compassionate and experienced Physician who wants to make a meaningful difference for patients and families facing serious illness.

The Physician will be employed by Care Synergy Medical Group, the provider group within the Care Synergy enterprise, and will be assigned to Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care in Colorado Springs, directly supporting its hospice and palliative care patients and clinical teams.

LOCATION : Colorado Springs, CO

PRIMARY ASSIGNMENT: Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care

EMPLOYER: Care Synergy Medical Group

STATUS : Full time

SCHEDULE : Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with rotating after hours on-call coverage

PAY RANGE : $222,712 to $251,851 annually, plus on-call pay

SUPPLMENTAL PAY: Based on position, schedule and availability, including paid mileage, shift differentials and stipends

Mileage and Expense Reimbursement: Sixty-two and a half cents per mile

THE REWARDING WORK YOU WILL DO

The Physician provides medical expertise across hospice and palliative care and serves as a trusted clinical partner to patients, families, attending physicians and interdisciplinary teams at Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provides physician services consistent with hospice and palliative care philosophy, including consultation regarding goals of care, pain management and symptom management.
• Reviews clinical information and assesses diagnosis, prognosis, treatment plans and patient health to support appropriate hospice and palliative care decisions.
• Determines clinical appropriateness of hospice and palliative care admissions, transitions and discharges.
• Participates actively in interdisciplinary group and interdisciplinary team meetings and utilization review.
• Conducts home, inpatient and facility visits for hospice and palliative care patients as needed.
• Collaborates with attending physicians and other providers to ensure coordinated, high quality patient care.
• Provides clinical guidance and consultation to hospice and palliative care teams.
• Serves as a liaison with community physicians, hospitals, medical schools, teaching hospitals and other healthcare partners.
• Partners with organizational leadership in the continued development of hospice and palliative care philosophy, services, clinical practices, policies and procedures.
• Participates in planning, developing and evaluating hospice and palliative care services.
• Provides rotating after hours and weekend call coverage for hospice and palliative care consultation, including patient visits when clinically necessary.
• When designated, assume responsibility for the medical component of the patient care program in the absence of the Medical Director.

WHAT WE ARE GOING TO LOVE ABOUT YOU

Minimum qualifications include:

• Graduate of an approved school of medicine
• At least three years of experience as a practicing physician in hospice and palliative medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, oncology or another related field
• Current Colorado physician license or ability to obtain required Colorado licensure
• Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Hospice and Palliative Medicine
• Colorado driver's license and proof of insurance as required for the position
• Current CPR certification

Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care is a community based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing compassionate, high quality hospice and palliative care throughout the Colorado Springs region.

Care Synergy Medical Group is the provider group within the Care Synergy enterprise. Physicians and advanced practice providers employed through Care Synergy Medical Group work collaboratively with Care Synergy's affiliated organizations to provide high quality, patient centered care.

This Physician will be employed by Care Synergy Medical Group and primarily assigned to Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care, working directly with its patients, families, clinical teams and community partners.

Care Synergy is a nonprofit healthcare enterprise supporting community based hospice, palliative care, PACE, CAPABLE and wellness organizations across Colorado's Front Range.
