Horizontal Machining Center Operator

Operates a horizontal boring mill, with and without continuous path control, performing contouring, boring, facing, turning, counter boring, grooving, undercutting, reaming, milling, drilling and tapping operations to produce quality product in accordance with established quality and procedural guidelines. Makes in-process changes to programs and edits/writes programs, as necessary, under the supervision of a programmer and/or immediate supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

• A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required.
• Formal technical education is preferred, but not required.
• A minimum of three (3) years' technical experience in a similar role is desired.
• Must demonstrate ability to maintain detailed records, complete process documentation and other production records.
• Must be able to recognize problems as programs are running and demonstrate ability to write/edit programs using both G and M coded controls (experience with Siemens and Fanuc controls preferred).
• Must be able to work with tolerances of.000" and to a microfinish 16 when necessary.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must be open and available to working all shifts.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is frequently required to walk.
• The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic, and caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles.
• The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal noise levels to loud.
