Summary

The Fraud Systems Administrator administers, monitors, and optimizes the organization’s fraud detection and dispute management systems to ensure controls remain effective, efficient, and responsive to evolving fraud risks. This role serves as a key systems and analytics partner, leveraging data, digital insights, technology, and operational expertise to reduce losses, improve workflows, and support decision-making while protecting financial assets, operational stability, and member trust.

Essential Functions

• Administer and optimize fraud detection and dispute systems, serving as the primary systems administrator responsible for rule management, configurations, workflows, integrations, data integrity, user access, and overall system functionality.
• Monitor system performance and alert effectiveness, performing system tuning through rule and threshold adjustments to address fraud trends, reduce false positives, and mitigate risks.
• Support implementation, testing, and ongoing enhancement of fraud and dispute platforms by providing technical support, coordinating system updates, and rule changes with internal teams and vendors, and clearly communicating impacts to stakeholders.
• Prepare and deliver monthly and ad-hoc reporting, including key metrics, loss summaries, and trend analysis, and translate findings into actionable system or process improvements to enhance fraud detection and reduce overall exposure.
• Monitor vendor performance and solution effectiveness against expectations, supporting business reviews and ongoing optimization efforts.
• Identify and recommend opportunities to automate fraud detection and communication processes, partnering with leadership to evaluate and implement technology solutions and assess business impacts.
• Prepare and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and system documentation to support consistency, audit readiness, and alignment with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Actively partner with the Digital Risk Analyst to support digital risk strategy while maintaining ownership of enterprise fraud systems and analytics.
• Partner with Marketing and internal stakeholders to support member education initiatives and fraud awareness campaigns.
• Act as a subject matter expert for fraud systems, reporting, and data usage, participating in cross-functional initiatives and serving as an escalation resource to support fraud risk, detection, and prevention strategies.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging fraud mitigation solutions, assessing potential fit and implementation opportunities for Veridian.
• Proactively engage in user groups, peer networks, and continuous learning to enhance system capabilities.
• Lead the department in the absence of the Manager, providing leadership, coaching and mentoring to the team.
• Maintain on-call availability for system support and fraud events, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.

Travel

Limited travel expected.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Business, Finance, Criminology, or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience of 8+ years.
• 5+ years of progressive financial or fraud related work experience.
• 2+ years of experience working with fraud detection systems, transaction monitoring tools, or case management platforms.
• Experience working cross-functionally with operations, IT, and/or vendors to support system implementations, upgrades, or integrations.
• Experience analyzing fraud trends, tuning rules, and identifying emerging fraud risks (e.g. account takeover, digital fraud schemes).

Preferred Education and Experience

• 2+ years of experience with Veridian's online services, accounts, and loan products.
• Experience working with reporting and data analysis.
