Qualifications Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of a para educator assessment, 60 college credits (100 level or higher), or an Associate's degree. Must possess a valid AZ substitute teaching certificate. Prior experience working with children (preferred). Must possess a Valid AZ DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card. General clerical experience (preferred). Must be able to push, pull, or lift weights of at least 30 pounds. Must be proficient in the use of the English language, both verbal and written (preferred). Duties and Responsibilities Follows professional practices consistent with the school district policies in working with students, parents, and staff. Maintains a discipline and classroom that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff in accordance with district policies. Ensures adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students. Reports to the office upon arrival at school; checks the mailboxes of the absent teacher for materials requiring immediate attention; obtains duty schedules; requests clarification of school rules and procedures. Implements lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner that motivates students to learn and participate. Reports all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as reasonably possible. Acts in a professional manner.
