Property Controller

Our client is a real estate firm. They seek a Property Controller to join their Manhattan, NY office. Responsibilities Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for a portfolio of commercial real estate assets. Review general ledger activity, financial statements, management reports, and third-party accounting deliverables. Approve journal entries, accruals, and complex accounting transactions in accordance with applicable accounting standards. Present financial analyses, portfolio performance, and operating results to senior leadership and stakeholders. Analyze workpapers, reconciliations, fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and management fee calculations. Coordinate with asset management and property management teams to evaluate operating results, leasing activity, and financial performance. Oversee property accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, tenant billing, bank reconciliations, and outsourced accounting support. Manage cash forecasting, treasury activities, funding requests, and lender reporting while monitoring debt compliance requirements. Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in partnership with operational and investment teams. Develop financial models, reporting templates, and process improvements using real estate accounting systems and advanced Excel tools.
