Summary:

The Server is responsible for greeting guests, taking food and drink orders and ensuring guests are satisfied throughout their meal. They are required to communicate with kitchen staff to make sure food orders are prepared correctly and delivered in timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Greet guests and maintain a friendly demeanor throughout their dining experience. Ensures that outlets are sanitized, cleaned, stocked, and setup correctly at start of and throughout the shift while adhering to sanitation, safety, and food and beverage control policies. Clear, clean and reset tables as needed. Ability to operate POS system. Assists with basic food preparation as needed. Understand and communicate current menu Adhere to policies regarding handling of cash drawer while following specific KOA cash and credit card handling procedures. Increase revenues through up-selling strategies and profitability of ancillary income. Maintain high standards of professionalism, customer service, quality and cleanliness. Be familiar with fire extinguisher locations and know how to operate them in the restaurant/kitchen. Ensures safe handling of chemicals in accordance with department standards and utilizes proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when appropriate.

Required Education and Experience:

Hear and speak the English language fluently Experience in customer service and resolving customer issues Working knowledge of operational procedures Comfortable in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Work is performed primarily indoors. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly, lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, push, pull, reach overhead. Use of repetitive motion, standing, bending, sitting, lifting, and walking, carrying trays. Significant standing and walking for entire shifts Fast-paced, noisy, and sometimes crowded, often with exposure to extreme temperatures (kitchen heat or freezer cold). Risk of burns from hot equipment, cuts from knives, and slips on wet or greasy floors; requires wearing PPE (slip-resistant shoes, gloves, masks) Ability to work in spaces where common allergens may be handled or present Will experience occasional interruptions and shifting priorities. Valid driver's license required, this position may be expected to drive a motorized vehicle which requires close and distance vision, sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, etc.
