Clinical Applications Engineer
Intuitive Surgical
Clinical Applications Engineer supporting early adoption of robotic minimally invasive surgical systems. The role involves on-site procedural support, clinical training, and technical expertise to help new hospital users achieve system proficiency while providing product feedback to engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide procedural support to new robotic system sites to ensure safe and effective adoption
- Train physicians and clinical staff on equipment use and system best practices during procedures
- Collaborate with global engineering and sales teams to support users through initial learning phases
- Identify clinical adoption barriers and work with development partners to address them
- Maintain current knowledge of product documentation, clinical literature, and technical troubleshooting
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years technical or clinical healthcare experience
- Experience navigating hospital environments and supporting clinical procedures
- Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or healthcare-based field
- Proficiency with complex technical systems and critical patient care settings
- Ability to travel up to 70% and respond to urgent requests across geographies
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaborative skills
- Self-directed learner comfortable working autonomously in dynamic environments
