Evaluates patient's response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including, but not limited to, IV's, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records. Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in an accurate, timely manner. Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient.Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability. We keep 32 weeks and above, however, with being located right off I-25 we see all gestations. The App is in house 24/7 and the neonatologist rounds in person daily. Our unit is unique because all of our Nicu nurses function in the transition and postpartum role. This allows for a very cohesive and close team! We will thoroughly train you and make sure you are comfortable and competent!Due to the structure and size of our Nicu and fluctuations in Nicu census, the Nicu team is expected to cross train to Pp and the transition rn role. You will receive an orientation to that role and we will support your learning needs to ensure you feel comfortable coming off orientation.For more than 50 years, St. Anthony North Hospital has delivered optimal health care to the communities of Westminster, Erie, Brighton, Broomfield, Northglenn and Thornton.
