Job Description
Join Our Dynamic Cardiac Nursing Team!

Job Description:

- Shift: 12H Nights
- Weekend Requirement: 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
- Floating: May be asked to float into any other acuity level; including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, & MS-Tele
- Patient Ratios: 1:4 day shift; 1:5 night shift
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
- Common Diagnoses/Types of Patients:
- Congestive heart failure (CHF)
- Hypertension
- Chest pain work-ups
- COPD exacerbations
- Asthma
- Pneumonia
- Pancreatitis
- Bowel obstructions
- Gastrointestinal bleeding
- Acute renal failure
- Experience or Must-Have Skills:
- Cardiac drips
- Post cath lab care
- Titration: RNs required to titrate drips (analgesics, anticoagulants, antihypertensives)
- Team Support: Charge Nurse/House Supervisor available, and nurse aids on the unit with ratios of approx. 10-12:1
- Equipment: CPAP, HFNC, NRB available
- Telemed Monitoring: Monitor Techs on duty 24/7; RNs co-sign strips
- Scheduling Preferences: Self-scheduling and block scheduling allowed
- Orientation: Attend unit/department specific orientation

Cancellation Policy: Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
Charting System: EPIC
BSN Required: False
License to Submit: Yes
Trauma Level: Care Setting: Acute
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 91 weeks
