Job Description Summary Job Description Summary The Pharmacy Technician III assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions. Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information. Receives and stocks incoming supplies. May prepare labels and routine prepacked orders. May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Entity Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) Worker Type Employee; Sub‑Type: PRN Schedule Scheduled Weekly Hours: 12 Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with at least 1 year experience. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP) and national certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience; experience in sterile compounding preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, sit, and walk frequently; climb stairs infrequently; work indoors continuously; work from elevated areas frequently; work in confined spaces infrequently; kneel infrequently; bend at the waist frequently; squat infrequently; perform repetitive hand motions frequently; reach in all directions frequently; possess good finger dexterity continuously; use both legs and hands/arms continuously; lift and carry 15 lbs unassisted infrequently; lift objects from floor 15 lbs to 36 inches infrequently; lift objects from 36 inches to overhead 15 lbs infrequently; maintain 20/40 visual acuity corrected in one or both eyes; see and recognize objects at close and long distances; discriminate colors; maintain hearing acuity; perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements; work in a latex‑safe environment; maintain tactile and olfactory sensory functions; be qualified for respirator use initially and as required.
