Executive Chef – Senior Living

Join our team as an Executive Chef at Thorne Crest Senior Living Community in Albert Lea, MN. Pay is $56,000 to $65,000 per year , with credit given for verified experience, plus holiday pay. This is a full-time leadership opportunity where you'll oversee culinary operations and create exceptional dining experiences that enhance the lives of our residents.

What you'll do

• Lead daily culinary operations and maintain compliance with food service regulations
• Plan menus, manage food ordering, and coordinate meals for special events
• Promote high-quality, from-scratch cooking using fresh, flavorful ingredients
• Establish and maintain recipe standards, portion control, and food presentation
• Monitor meal quality to ensure resident preferences and dietary needs are met
• Conduct daily rounds to support staff performance, safety, and sanitation standards
• Communicate and collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations
• Build relationships with residents and gather feedback to continually improve dining services
• Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary food preparation and storage areas
• Assist with department planning, budgeting, and operational goals
• Train, mentor, and motivate culinary team members
• Participate in ongoing professional development

What you'll need

Required:

• Certified Food Protection Manager certification, or ability to obtain within 2 months of hire
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in culinary arts, or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a chef
• Must be at least 21 years of age

Preferred:

• Previous leadership experience in a senior living, healthcare, or hospitality environment
• Experience managing kitchen operations, budgets, and staff development
