Human Resources Consultant

Part‑Time HR Consultant Leath HR Group is growing and is seeking an experienced Part‑Time HR Consultant to join our team supporting clients throughout the Greater Richmond region. This role partners with our Senior HR Consultant & Market Leader to provide strategic and hands‑on HR support to small and mid‑size businesses (SMBs). Responsibilities include employee relations, HR compliance, workplace investigations, policy development, training and facilitation, recruiting support, HR projects, and fractional HR leadership. Location: Richmond, VA / Ashland, VA Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Labor and Industrial Relations, Organizational Psychology, or a closely related field. Master’s degree preferred. 15+ years of progressive Human Resources experience Minimum of 5 years in a senior HR leadership or strategic HR role Current SHRM‑SCP or SPHR/PHR certification preferred (SHRM‑SCP or SPHR strongly preferred) Strong working knowledge of federal and Virginia employment laws Experience supporting multiple organizations or business environments is a plus Excellent communication, consulting, and relationship‑building skills Ability to travel to client sites throughout the Greater Richmond area Reliable transportation required Comfortable working independently with a combination of onsite and remote work Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office or similar tools, and comfort working in dynamic, growth‑oriented environments What We Offer Flexible part‑time hourly position with future opportunity for full‑time based on volume and performance Opportunity to work with a highly experienced team of senior HR professionals Diverse client engagements across multiple industries Meaningful work helping growing organizations build exceptional workplaces Hourly rate ranging from $50 to $75 / hour At Leath HR Group we believe organizations deserve senior‑level HR expertise without the cost of a full‑time executive.
