General Manager

Via Carota is hiring a General Manager to lead front-of-house operations at its acclaimed West Village osteria. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional who is passionate about exceptional service, operational excellence, and developing high-performing teams. What You’ll Do Lead daily front-of-house operations across lunch and dinner service Partner with Chefs Rita Sodi and Jody Williams to maintain and strengthen service standards Recruit, train, mentor, and develop front-of-house managers and team members Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance management, and staff development Manage scheduling, labor planning, and front-of-house purchasing Oversee reservations, dining room operations, and guest experience Coordinate closely with the kitchen to ensure seamless service and communication Maintain operational consistency, quality, and hospitality standards Support the development of systems and processes for future restaurant group growth Foster a collaborative, professional, and guest-focused team culture What We’re Looking For 5+ years of senior restaurant management experience in a respected New York City restaurant Deep knowledge of Italian cuisine, wine, and hospitality Experience working in founder-led restaurant environments Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making abilitiesConfident floor presence with a guest-first approach Ability to manage high-volume restaurant operations Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Fluency in English (Italian language skills are a plus) Why You’ll Love Working Here Competitive salary starting at $120,000 (commensurate with experience) Health insurance Opportunity to work alongside James Beard Award-winning chefs Leadership role at one of New York City’s most acclaimed restaurants About the Workplace Opened in 2014 by acclaimed chefs Rita Sodi and Jody Williams, Via Carota is an award-winning Italian osteria in New York City’s West Village.
