Quick Facts Location: Portsmouth, VA (on-site at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and associated clinics) Start Date: 10/05/2026 End Date: 09/30/2030 Schedule: Monday–Friday, Dayshift, 8 hours/day Hours/Week: 40 Employment Type: Full-Time Licensure/Certs: MD or DO from accredited medical school, current U.S. medical license, Board-certified in Family Practice, DEA, BLS Experience: At least 1 year recent family practice experience, preferably within military or federal healthcare settings Pay & Benefits Pay Package: $135.00/hour, paid weekly via direct deposit Benefits: Competitive pay packages, weekly pay schedule, robust referral bonus program, 24/7 dedicated team support, licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable What You’ll Do Provide comprehensive family healthcare services across multiple clinics Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic illnesses Perform preventive screenings and health maintenance procedures Document clinical encounters accurately in electronic health records Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care Support ongoing training and process improvement initiatives Participate in after-hours or weekend coverage as needed What You Need MD or DO from an accredited U.S. or Canadian medical school Valid, unrestricted medical license in Virginia Board certification in Family Practice Minimum of 1 year recent family practice experience Current DEA and BLS certifications Excellent communication skills and team collaboration ability Ability to handle emergency situations effectively Nice to Have Experience in military or federal healthcare environments Additional certifications in emergency medicine or specialized practice areas Bilingual capabilities or additional language skills Prior teaching or supervision experience About the Assignment Join a team supporting Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and associated clinics, delivering high-quality primary care to military service members and their families.
