Aviation Procurement Lead — Remote

Position Summary The Buyer 3 will lead the procurement and management of critical commodities and materials essential to Metrea’s operational and production functions. The successful candidate will understand the market for Metrea’s specific aircraft components and lead supplier‑facing activities which improve vendor performance and relationships. This role involves sourcing and acquiring materials, components, supplies and services ensuring alignment with company policies, Department of Defense contract requirements, and federal acquisition regulations. Essential Functions and Competency Statements Execute purchase orders and ensure the timely delivery of materials to Metrea’s end‑use aircraft from requisition to purchase order delivery. Lead vendor management activities for specific commodities and ensure all commodities have multiple qualified sources of supply. Have a firm understanding of the global aircraft parts supplier networks and proactively work to minimize downtime by studying supply routes and categories. Manage supplier risk through proactive market analysis and recommendation of multiple courses of action to ensure continued supply. Improve and implement procurement strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency and reduce costs. Research sources of supply and assist strategic sourcing in improving the quality of our Approved Supplier List (ASL). Approach all problems with an analytical mindset and and looking for opportunities for continuous improvement of existing processes. Ensure precise and timely processing of all purchase orders while retaining necessary documentation per company policies. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Quality, Finance, and other departments. Responsible for reviewing technical publications and documentation to research and identify the necessary aircraft components and parts. Identify and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain while developing contingency plans to address potential disruptions. Bild and maintain strong relationships with key partners, including suppliers and customers. Provide critical AOG material support as needed to ensure timely operations. Assess suppliers’ capabilities, performance, and pricing to ensure alignment with company requirements. Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contract agreements with suppliers. Analyze purchasing data and trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements. Prepare and present regular reports for management, highlighting key metrics and insights. Resolve procurement discrepancies in a timely manner. Ensure effective follow‑up and administration of purchase order and subcontract files. Engage in supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality, cost, and delivery standards. Conduct research on new components and suppliers to enhance procurement strategies. Make informed procurement decisions, take initiative and effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders. Excels at resolving complex problems challenged with a strategic and thoughtful approach. Foster collaboration and commitment within the team to achieve goals and deliverables. Thrive in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Exhibit excellent communication skills, both verbal and in written form. Required Education, Experience and Certificates Education: Associate degree in supply chain or analytical related topics and 5-7 years of experience with aviation procurement. Experience: 5+ years of Procurement or Strategic Sourcing experience and a history of negotiating vendor pricing. Experience in technical manufacturing and program management is a plus. Certificates and License: Valid Drivers Licenses Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Experience: Previous experience procuring aviation parts and materials with a Part 121 or Part 135 aircraft operator. Supervisory Responsibility This role may have supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities may be required. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full‑time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt employees must have the ability to be on‑call and available, as business needs require. Facility Location Metrea Management – Remote role with the ability to travel to office locations in Temecula, CA, Tampa, FL, Oklahoma City, OK, or other facilities as is necessary. Travel Requirements Occasional travel may be required (Less than 10%). Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must be able to accomplish all duties with little or no assistance.
