Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity as a dedicated Occupational Therapist providing support to students in a supportive educational environment. Located just 45 minutes south of Washington, DC, this role spans two middle schools, with the potential to occasionally serve an elementary school. You’ll have the chance to shape the student experience through both direct interventions and consultative services, with the flexibility to tailor your part-time schedule—perfect for those balancing another clinical role or seeking work-life balance.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapy license in Virginia required
- Experience with school-based OT services, including both direct and consultative models
- Comfortable working independently across multiple school sites
- Ability to manage and prioritize a caseload of varying needs
- Willingness to complete credentialing steps promptly, including VA Dept. of Social Services check and TB test
Responsibilities:
- Serve a caseload of approximately 25 students, with 10 needing direct services and 15 receiving consultative support
- deliver direct therapy sessions to support the developmental and academic goals of students
- Provide consultative support, collaborating closely with teachers, parents, and school staff
- Conduct evaluations as needed during the school year
- Adapt interventions and strategies to suit the evolving needs of the student population
